Babul Supriyo and Justice Ganguly's heated exchange on 2nd Hooghly bridge
A 17-year-old girl suffered critical injuries at the Savin Kingdom Adventure Park in Siliguri’s Pradhannagar on Monday during a school trip from Araria, Bihar. While on a joy ride, her hair became entangled in the exposed rear machinery of the ride, tearing off her scalp and exposing her skull.
The student was part of a group visiting the park under school supervision, accompanied by her teacher-mother. According to her family, the rear portion of the ride was not covered, and there were no visible safety instructions such as tying up long hair or using protective gear for riders.
Following the accident, the park authorities allegedly transported the severely injured girl to a nearby hospital using a small vehicle instead of arranging an ambulance. Eyewitnesses claimed the park lacked immediate medical facilities, raising questions about its emergency preparedness.
This is not the first reported incident at the park. In 2023, a tourist died during another ride. The victim’s family has filed a formal complaint at Pradhannagar Police Station, prompting a police investigation. Officers visited the park, inspected the ride involved, and questioned staff about safety protocols and maintenance procedures. Further investigations are underway.
